It seems that becoming an NRA Personal Protection Outside The Home Instructor, or becoming an NRA CCW Instructor is part of the process that will allow someone to apply to become a NV CCW instructor. We hope to confirm this info soon. We will be offering several specifically designed series of classes in NV that will complete this part of the process to become a NV CCW instructor as well as an NRA Instructor for these respective classes and a few additional NRA classes these instructors are also qualified to teach! Keep in mind all these classes have NRA dictated mandatory student materials and textbooks. Those items are included in the fees for classes. Also, a live fire requirement range time cost is usually included in the fees for these classes. Candidates provide ammo and usually provide firearms. Generally, NRA instructor classes will require a candidate to have previously completed the regular class before completing the instructor class. Generally, becoming a basic instructor is a prerequisite to becoming an advanced instructor. Starting from scratch the process would look something like this. 1. NRA Basic Pistol (BP), 1 day, typically $250.00 or less depending on the number of candidates. We have offered this class for only $95.00 per candidate due to the number of candidates. 2. We usually offer a NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) class next. We feel every instructor should also be an RSO. Typically, a 1 day class. This class is a prerequisite to any instructor class. This 1 day class is usually offered as part of an instructor class on the first day of that class. BIT is mandatory for any instructor candidate unless the candidate has completed BIT Within the 24 months prior to completing an instructor class. 4. NRA Pistol Instructor (PI) usually with a BIT class. Typically, a 2 or, 3 day class. 5. NRA Personal Protection Inside The Home (PPIH). Usually, a 1 day class. 6. NRA PPIH Instructor (PPIHI), usually a 2 day class provided the candidate has completed BIT within the 24 months prior to completing this class. 7. NRA Personal Protection Outside The Home (PPOH), usually a 2 day class. 8. NRA PPOH Instructor (PPOHI), usually a 2 day class provided the candidate has completed BIT within the 24 months prior to completing this class.
