As you will see, Clark County only wants well trained and qualified instructors teaching NV CCW. While Texas may have the strictest shooting proficiency requirements for a CCW (they call it LTC) Instructor of any State we are aware of, Nevada has the most extensive CCW Instructor training requirements of any State we are aware of! Once you meet these requirements, you will be well qualified to apply for appointment as a CCW (or whatever they call it) Instructor for several other states if you choose to.
Remember, this process will also allow you to offer several in-demand NRA courses along with the NV CCW course (if you are appointed by the state). NRA courses come with the advantage of an NRA Instructor being able to advertise those courses on the NRA Instructor website. Advertising NRA courses on the NRA Instructor website is free to NRA Instructors, and it is a very powerful advertising tool for NRA courses!
As we currently understand the process to apply become a CCW Instructor in Clark County (each county can have different instructor requirements, but the CCW license is good state-wide), a candidate who is an NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home Instructor (PPOHI) is eligible to apply for appointment, along with any other requirements imposed by the state and the county.
The progression to complete PPOHI looks like this.
1. Successfully complete NRA Basic Pistol (BP) and score Level 4 on the live fire component, usually 1 day. This course can be one-on-one, but more candidates means lower prices and more fun.
2. We strongly urge all candidates to then successfully complete NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO), usually one day. ask your attorney why this is a good idea. This course can be one-on-one, but more candidates means lower prices and more fun. 3. Successfully complete NRA Pistol Instructor (PI). NRA requires a minimum four candidates to hold any instructor course, so scheduling a course is sometimes a challenge to find enough candidates who can be in the same place at the same time. This course is usually two days. This course will usually include one day to present NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT). An NRA Instructor candidate must complete BIT unless that candidate has completed BIT within the 24 months prior to completing any other NRA instructor course. PI is usually two days with the first day being BIT and the second day being PI.

We can offer all these courses in a schedule that could work very nicely for you provided we can get the minimum number of candidates for the instructor courses.

NOTE: NRA Credential Registration Fee Structure:NRA Members will pay $40.00 for the first rating and $20.00 for each additional rating in a 24-month period. Non-NRA Members will pay $175.00 for the first rating and $40.00 for each additional rating in a 24-month period. These fees are usually payable to the NRA every two years to maintain currency.
