The total to attend all fourteen courses is $3,687.00. Anyone who register for, pays for, and attends all fourteen courses will only pay us $3,299.00, call 575-985-5555 for details. Our goal when we travel from Clovis, NM to offer training is to do that as affordably as possible for our candidates. Obviously, the more candidates in a class, the more affordably we can offer these courses. Our goal each time we do this is to cover our travel and expenses with some leftover to allow our instructor corps to enjoy the location we are at while we are in town. Can you say the Wynn buffet? Can you say the Bellagio buffet? Can you say Texas De Brazil? Can you say Chicago Brewing Company? We will hit each of those once while we are in town. However, we do not need to make a huge profit when we offer these trainings. More students who register for, pay for and attend these courses will allow us to offer more and bigger discounts. We do charge a 3% fee for all credit card, or debit card payments.
Of the courses we are offering in this series, NRA Credentialing fees apply to RI, PI, RSO, PPOHI, PPIHI, CCWI, CRSO and any other instructor or coach certification. These fees are paid directly to the NRA and are not included in our fees for training. For the first rating NRA members: $40, Non-Members: $175. Additional Rating Activation fee: NRA Members: $20, Non-Members: $40.00.
HPCC has a minimum number of candidates required to put on any course. Also, NRA requires a minimum of four candidates to conduct any Instructor course or CRSO course. THIS SERIES HAS THE MINIMUM NUMBER OF CANDIDATES TO CONDUCT ALL THE COURSES!
As of July 7, 2026, the deposit for training is due. Any candidates who register for courses will need to pay the deposit. Go to the HOME page and scroll down about 1/3rd of the way to see the payment link on the left.
HPCC will always refund any fees collected on the rare occasion where we are forced to cancel a course. Refunds are not offered for no-show candidates! Reschedules can sometimes be offered if requested far enough in advance. However, we cannot guarantee they will be offered in the same location without being rescheduled to several months later. Reschedules will be subject to the same requirements as the original schedule. Substitutions can sometimes be accommodated with at least 72-hours notice. Substitute candidates will be subject to the same prerequisites.
Candidates can pick and choose courses to sign up for without signing up for a full series, but those candidates will be charged the NRA website price as listed above for each of those courses, and they will be charged the NRA website deposit for each of those courses; those deposits will be subject to the same refund restrictions as the rest of the series.
NRA student materials are included with the fee for each course, or series of courses and will be provided to each candidate. The fee for each basic course includes one session lasting two hours of live fire range time and coaching; this is when the NRA live fire qualification for each series will be attempted. Any candidate requiring additional range time, or range days to shoot the NRA required qualification will be responsible for paying any additional range fees.
Candidates should bring a .22 rifle with open, or iron sights and sufficient ammunition to fire the required qualification for the rifle classes. Center fire rifles with open, or iron sights are allowed, but rimfire is suggested.
Candidates should bring a .22 caliber pistol with open, or iron sights and sufficient ammunition to fire the required qualification for the basic pistol classes. Center fire pistols with open, or iron sights are allowed, but rimfire is suggested. HPCC will bring loaner rifles and pistols for the .22 qualifications that are very conducive to these courses of fire, you supply your .22 ammo.
Candidates will bring a centerfire pistol and sufficient ammunition to fire the more advanced courses of fire.
NRA allows optics, but we do not allow optics. Call us to discuss why we only allow iron, or open sights and why that could be a significant advantage to you.
All firearms and ammunition must meet the approval of the HPCC training team. HPCC will bring loaner .22 rifles and .22 pistols that are conducive to the type of live fire qualification dictated for the basic courses. HPCC does not provide loaner centerfire firearms.
NRA has live fire prequalification requirements for each Instructor course. The live fire could be conducted in the evening after classroom training, so those days may be a little longer than the scheduled 9:00 am to 5:00 pm; please plan accordingly.
This is not exact, but in general the basic instructor prequals look like this:
Pistol Instructor candidates, among other requirements, will need to be able to shoot a twenty shot, slow fire, six-inch group at fifteen yards, standing, unsupported, with open or iron sights, no optics, using as many hands as you would like.
Rifle Instructor candidates, among other requirements, will need to be able to shoot a ten shot, slow fire, four and a half-inch group at twenty-five yards, in bench rest, then ten shots in prone and then ten shots standing unsupported, with open or iron sights, no optics, using as many hands as you would like, for a total of 30 rounds. HPCC will bring loaner rifles and pistols for the basic instructor .22 qualifications that are very conducive to these courses of fire, you supply your .22 ammo. Other requirements are things like demonstrating impeccable firearm safety standards while handling firearms and simulators and laughing convincingly at all the instructor's jokes. Each course also has a written evaluation.
If for any reason you currently have any trouble shooting these qualifications, do not worry! You are hiring us to train you to be able to shoot these qualifications if you attend any of our basic courses. You are hiring us to train you to be able to teach others to be able to shoot these qualifications if you attend any of our instructor courses! While we cannot guarantee you will be able to shoot the mandatory prequalification courses of fire after our instruction, nor do we offer any money back if we are unable to teach you how to shoot these qualifications, we are highly successful at teaching candidates to be able to shoot these qualifications! If you do it the way we will train you, the way the NRA wants us to train you, you should be fine! Remember this, how crappy of a shot does someone need to be before we say maybe that someone should not be teaching others how to shoot? Without meaning to offend anyone, the requirements listed in NOTE 5 are not competitive requirements. I have teenage male and female marksmen in our shooting club (see High Plains Marksmanship Academy) who shoot far above these qualifications. They do this using the same methods and fundamentals we will be talking about.
Go to the range and see if you can currently shoot at the level of these quals, or better. If you are having any difficulty at all, come to the course with an open mind and we will do our best to help you make it happen! We are very proud of our track record of getting people able to shoot these qualifications. We are also very proud of our track record of taking shooters who are highly accomplished marksmen and decreasing their group sizes too!
Contact us at O 575-985-5555, or C 413-626-7778, or training@highplainsconcealedcarry.com to discuss preparing for each shooting qualification, and to answer any questions regarding allowed firearms.
Candidates are urged to bring lunch, drinks, snacks and a cooler each day. Lunchtime each day will be a working lunch to maximize class time productivity. Each candidate will be responsible for cleaning up after themselves. Here is a question for you. If we have ten candidates in a course, and we give everyone from noon till 1:00 pm for lunch, how many of the ten will not make it back until sometime well after 1:00? Besides that, we would have to start an hour earlier to make up for the lunch hour. Each candidate will be responsible for cleaning up after themselves (we know we wrote this twice). Any candidate who wishes to bring a smoker, and who can properly smoke a moist brisket for all of us in the class to enjoy, oh who am I kidding, as long as they can provide this for the instructors, will receive extra points on all evaluations!
As more candidates register for and pay for an individual course, or courses, or series of courses, the total fee for that course, the courses, or the full series of courses may be reduced incrementally for each candidate.
Successfully completing a Basic class with a qualifying live fire score (see NOTE 5 for live fire requirements) is a prerequisite for attending any corresponding Instructor course! For instance, completing Basic Pistol at Level 4 is a prerequisite for Pistol Instructor. Rifle instructor is similar. Call us 575-985-5555.
When you register for the Rifle Instructor course, you must print Appendix 3 found on the registration page for that course. You must bring this appendix with you to the training to be completed by you and by us during the course. We suggest you put it in a ring binder with room for additional materials. When you register for the Pistol Instructor course, you must print Appendix 5 found on the registration page for that course. You must bring this appendix with you to the training to be completed by you and by us during the course. We suggest you put it in a ring binder with room for additional materials. Before registering for any courses, click on the HOME link at the top of this page and see the page about OUR TRAINING TEAM to know what movies you need to watch before attending any of our courses; that is if you want to get any of the HPCC instructor's movie quotes and references! YOU WILL BE GIVEN A QUIZ ON EACH OF THESE MOVIES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE COURSE! This quiz will be 100 essay questions per movie. Candidates who fail any quiz will be expelled from all courses without receiving any refunds! That's right, we said it!
Feel free to contact us at O 575-985-5555, C 413-626-7778, or training@highplainsconcealedcarry.com to discuss any of the above.
