Please call 575-985-5555 with any questions, or email training@highplainsconcealedcarry.com. Our goal when we travel from Clovis, NM to offer classes is to do that as affordably as possible for our students. Obviously, the more students in a class, the more affordably we can offer these classes. Our goal each time we do this is to cover our expenses. We do not need to make a huge profit.
High Plains Concealed Carry (HPCC) is offering two series of classes in June 2026 in the San Juan Puerto Rico area. One series will be for rifle, and one series will be for pistol.
The rifle series consists of NRA Basic Rifle (BR), NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO), NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT), NRA Rifle Instructor (RI), and NRA/USA Shooting/CMP Level 1 Rifle Coach (RC). This series will be presented over eight consecutive days. All candidates will be required to attend all five classes presented over eight consecutive days to receive any discounted pricing.
The total fee for the rifle series will be discounted from $1,796.00 to $999.00 for candidates who complete the full series. This amount will include student books and materials. This amount will not cover any fees due to NRA to complete each candidate’s registration as an instructor, RSO, or coach. These fees paid to NRA are usually $65.00 each, or less and are dependent on the candidate's NRA membership status. These fees are usually payable to the NRA every year, or every two years to maintain currency. NRA members pay less.
The Pistol Series will be NRA Basic Pistol, NRA RSO, and NRA Pistol Instructor including NRA Basic Instructor Training. This series will be offered over five consecutive days. All candidates will be required to attend all four classes presented over five consecutive days. The total fee for this pistol series will be discounted from $1,197.00 to $599.00. The fee for attending both series will be reduced by an additional $200.00 for anyone who also attends, pays for and completes the pistol and the rifle series of classes. This would bring the fee for all the classes down to $1,390.00! Check back in March 2026 to see if we will also be offering NRA/USA Shooting/CMP Pistol Coach. That class will add two days to the schedule and an additional $499.00 before any discounts apply.
The total fee to HPCC for a candidate to complete both series of classes will be $1,398.00. This amount will include all student books and materials. The fee paid to HPCC will not cover any fees due to NRA to complete each candidate’s registration as an instructor, RSO, or CRSO. These fees paid to NRA. These fees are usually payable to the NRA every two years. Upcoming adjustments to the NRA Trainer Credential Fee Structure. Effective on February 1, 2026, the following fee structure will take effect: Credentialing fees Members: $40, Non-Member: $175. Additional Rating Activation fee Member: $20, Non-Member: $40.
HPCC requires a minimum of twelve registered candidates who have paid the class deposit to conduct either series of classes, twelve Rifle Instructor, RSO, and Coach candidates for the rifle series, and twelve Pistol Instructor and RSO candidates for the pistol series. HPCC is limiting each series to a maximum of eighteen candidates.
The deposit for each series will be due once a series has a minimum of twelve students registered. However, registration for each series will close no later than 7 weeks prior to the series start date. If by the registration close date, the series does not have twelve registered candidates, the series will be cancelled, and no deposits will be collected. Other candidates can sign up for classes without signing up for the full series, but those candidates will be charged the NRA website price for each of those specific classes, and they will be charged the NRA website deposit for each specific class; those deposits will be subject to the same refund restrictions of the rest of the series. Regardless of how many candidates sign up for individual classes, HPCC will need a minimum of twelve candidates for each class in a series to put the series on, with some exceptions. Contact us for exceptions.
When each series has twelve registered candidates, the deposit for each series will be due. The deposit will be $300.00 per candidate for each series and will only be refundable if the series is cancelled by HPCC due to extreme circumstances, or other reasons the HPCC training team deems the classes should be cancelled. The remaining balance will be collected on the morning of the first day of each series.
NRA student materials are included with the fee for classes and will be provided to each candidate. The fee for classes includes one session lasting two hours of live fire range time and coaching; this is when the NRA live fire qualification for each series will be attempted. Any candidate requiring additional range time, or range days to shoot the NRA required qualification will be responsible for paying any additional range fees and will be required to provide any additional ammunition needed to qualify.
Candidates will bring a .22 rifle and sufficient ammunition to fire the required qualification for the rifle series of classes. Candidates will bring a .22 caliber pistol and sufficient ammunition to fire the required qualification for the pistol series of classes. All firearms and ammunition must meet the approval of the HPCC training team.
Contact Coach Eric at O 575-985-5555, C 413-626-7778, or training@highplainsconcealedcarry.com to discuss preparing for each shooting qualification, and to answer any questions regarding allowed firearms.
Candidates are urged to bring lunch, drinks, snacks and a cooler each day. Lunch each day will be a working lunch to maximize class time productivity.
If 14 or more candidates register, pay for, and complete both series, the total fee for both series will be reduced incrementally for each candidate. For example, if 18 candidates (the maximum we allow) register and pay for both the rifle series and the pistol series of classes, the total fee for all classes for each candidate will only be $1,199.00! Remember, this amount will include all student books, materials and range time; approximately $200.00 per student. Also, the training schedule could be reduced by up to 3 days! This reduced fee will put all 18 candidates through 7 different classes. They will do NRA Basic Rifle, NRA Range Safety Officer, NRA Basic Instructor Training, NRA Rifle Instructor, NRA/USA Shooting/CMP Level 1 Rifle Coach, NRA Basic Pistol, and NRA Pistol Instructor. They will be NRA Pistol Instructors, NRA Rifle Instructors, NRA Range Safety Officers, and NRA/USA Shooting/CMP Level 1 Rifle Coaches once they complete their registration and pay the credentialing fee to the NRA!
These are the registration links for each class. Candidates will need to register individually for each class in the desired series. Note, Basic Instructor Training is included with the Rifle Instructor course and with the Pistol Instructor course.
